“I Can” Generator - Easily Make & Customize your Students' "I Can" Statements

The “I Can” Generator
contains 17 male student avatars and 17 female student avatars. The “I Can” cards are all customizable.
Items that are customizable are:

‡ Font Colors
‡ Background Colors (for each card)
‡ Choose from 34 Avatar Choices
‡ Enter Your Own Information for Each Student (Goal/“I Can”)!
The “I Can” Generator
includes 1-Sided and 2-Sided printing options. Our students frequently have more than 1 goal; therefore, we need an “I Can” statement for each goal. 2-Sided printing reduces the work involved in constructing individual “I Can” statements.
Benefits of the “I Can” Generator
1. No more forgetting your students’ goals!
You won’t have to reference their IEP every day.
2. Students will learn to recite their goal and will strive to achieve it!
3. Students learn a routine.
I have “I Can” statements in a pocket chart. Upon entering the speech/language room, students go to the pocket chart to find their “I Can” card. This gives me an additional minute to get set up (supplies/data-tracking materials).
4. Students get to keep their “I Can” statement when they master their goal!
You can insert students’ names on an “I Can” card, or you can use a CCSS reference (or other state reference standard). Choosing to do the latter option means your cards are reuseable (articulation goals are constant, so initial /s/ in sentences will get a lot of use)!
