This 14 page emergent reader is written to support sight word work, beginning sound awareness, and use of picture clues. Students begin by reading the book. Then they go back and circle the sight words I, can, and in the colors shown above (color coding makes counting easier). Next, they count and write how many times each word was written in the book. After that they write each word in the configuration boxes. Last, they cut out all of the letters at the bottom of the page and glue them to spell the three sight words.
