For some students, having to keep their mouths quiet in the classroom is very difficult. Often they like to express themselves by talking, making noises, or yelling. This social story addresses why it is important for them to use a quiet mouth in the classroom, and how it will help themselves and other students to listen and learn.
A social story is an awesome way to provide a visual or written guide for kids of all ages and abilities. Social stories can address various social interactions, skills, routines. The goal of a social story is to provide information to help inform kids in a simple and fun way!
When I work with my students, I find that having a visual example of what is going to happen, or how to solve a problem, helps to lower anxiety and increase fun.
