I Can Use My Classroom Voice is an example of a social narrative, an evidence based practice found effective for teaching social and behavior skills to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as other students who demonstrate with social and behavioral difficulties. It is based upon the Social Stories strategy, developed by Carol Gray. It is written at approximately a second grade reading level, but can be adapted and used with children either younger or older, in general and special education classrooms. It includes a classroom poster, which could be posted as a visual support to prompt the behavior in the classroom until mastered.
