Product Description
Who doesn’t love the Three Billy Goats Gruff? This non-fiction journal gives the children a great opportunity to write facts about goats and bridges!

Included is “I Know About Goats” which has 5 pages for the children to write about what goats eat, what they look like, where they live, how they move, and what their babies are like. There are two sets of pages to this journal, one with 3 boxes per page for drawing and a line for writing one word. Beginner writers do well with this format! The second set of pages has 3 small boxes for drawing and lines for writing a narrative. (Please see the Preview for samples of each.)

Also included is “Bridges - Crossing From Here to There,” a 7-page journal for the following 7 types of bridges:
✳ arch
✳ suspension
✳ beam
✳ cable
✳ covered
✳ trestle
✳ truss
The directions have links to the Wikipedia sites for a description and photo of each type. There are two sets of pages for this journal also for differentiation. (Please see the Preview for samples of each.)

There are two whole group activities included in this journal. Help your students learn about goats and bridges with our activity called Getting To Know… The children explore goat and/or bridge books in small groups, and the class comes together with their new knowledge to create a graphic organizer about them. We also explain how to challenge your students by having them create bridges with classroom building materials - a favorite of our children!

This journal is also included in our KinderLit puppet book, Three Billy Goats Gruff, which allows each child to make their own copy of this tale to take home.
