Empathy is an important life skill that promotes healthy and positive relationships in life. To develop empathy, we must first encourage kids to be aware of others’ feelings so they are better able to understand what others are experiencing. Once kids understand how someone might be feeling inside, then they can find a way to show they care and help make that person feel better. In this lesson, students will build empathy through 30 different scenario cards.
This scripted lesson and activity can be used in the small group setting, classroom guidance lessons, and individual counseling sessions. Printer-friendly pages are included as well. These pages use less ink.
