Here's the script...

I look back on my years in school and remember plenty of good times, as well as a few challenges. When I reached 3rd grade, life seemed to get a little more complicated. The spelling words were getting wider and the math problems taller. That's also when I noticed a few bullies starting to pick on me and some of my friends. One afternoon after recess my teacher wondered how I was doing. It was time to set the record straight.

Well, I woke up this morning
and stumbled out of bed
Grabbed my cheetos off the counter
but the bully ate them instead
Shuffled in to class with fear in my bones
I was tryin' to act real cool
but my knees were wobbly and I felt like a fool
Then ol' so and so kept stepping on my toes
Just don’t know if I can take it much more
Sometimes I need a little good news
Yeah I guess I have the big bad bully blues

One day the principal called everyone to the cafeteria for an assembly. He told us to be on the lookout for bullies. To everyone’s surprise, he started to sing.

Believe it or not I was a kid once
had a bike that I liked and brought a sack lunch
Remember those days, ‘member those nights
Eatin’ macaroni to my heart’s delight
Along came the bullies about 3rd grade
They’d push a little, poke a little, even throw a punch
To tell you the truth, man I was afraid
I was walkin’ in fear, livin’ in a crunch
Then one day, as I was pushed around
A new friend picked me up off the ground
She said I don’t think so, this is my friend
I don’t think so, don’t want to see that again
I made a note, and I wrote this down
I'll turn this in, and we'll turn it all around
Believe it or not, I was a kid like you
So I know exactly what you’re going through

That's something I never will forget, and for the rest of the year everyone came together when they saw someone being picked on.

I don’t think so, this is my friend
I don’t think so, don’t want to see that again
I made a note, and I wrote this down
I'll turn this in, and we'll turn it all around
Believe it or not, I was a kid like you
so I know exactly what you’re going through

Later on in middle school I was struggling with liking who I was. I didn't like my looks and my clothes never seemed to fit. One of my teachers could tell I was feeling kind of down and asked me what was going on. So this is what I told her,

Well, I woke up this morning and stumbled out of bed
Grabbed my homework off the counter
but it was my sisters instead
Shuffled in to homeroom with my hair a mess
I tried to act real cool
but my knees were wobbly and I felt like a fool
Then ol' so and so kept bringin’ me down low
Just don’t know if I can take it much more
Sometimes I need a little good news
I guess I have the just feelin' sad blues

My teacher raised her arms high and threw her hands to her head. She was definitely remembering something in her past. Then she looked at me with a smile and began,

Believe it or not I was a kid once
Yeah I looked like a bean pole, brought a sack lunch
I remember those days, I remember those nights
I’d eat macaroni to my heart’s delight
Then along came my fears about the 7th grade
didn't like my hair, my body or the way I walked
Couldn’t find my way out the more I talked
Then one day, feelin' especially down
a new friend picked me up off the ground
I don’t think so, you're one of a kind
I don’t think so, someone like you you'll never find
One of a kind original, plum full of potential
So make a note, write this down
There’s only one you, only one you around

So for the rest of my days in school, whenever someone was feeling down about themselves, we'd gather round and say

I don’t think so, you're one of a kind
Someone like you you'll never find
One of a kind original, plum full of potential
So make a note, write this down
There’s only one you, only one you around

So in the end we all made a decision.
Well we all came together
and decided right then
We'd be on the lookout for bullies
Change your ways, and we'll be friends
If they say bbbb, bbbut I have a bully too
Tell ‘em we'll say I don't think so
We're not going to allow this any more
And if we see someone feelin' kinda down
We'll let em know we're glad they're around
At all times we know we can be the good news
We all know it's our future to choose
At all times we know we can be the good news
We all know it's our future to choose
