This is an interactive visual to use with children who have difficulty expressing their emotions. To prepare for use, print all pages, cut apart the illustrated emotion pictures and laminate all parts. (Do not cut apart the squares that simply have a word in them – these are place holders for illustrated emotion cards so you don’t lose them). Apply hard sided Velcro to all of the squares that do not have an illustration and soft sided Velcro to all illustrated emotion cards.
To use, have students express how they feel by selecting an illustrated emotion card and placing it on the dashed square on the “I Feel” page. Encourage students to point to and say the words “I Feel” and their emotion. This is a good activity as part of morning meeting, and also great to use throughout the day to help children regulate and label their emotions.
