I HAVE ... DO YOU HAVE? Winter Cards
Reasons Why I Love This Set!
FIRST: I changed the “GAME” to: “I have .. Do you have.” WHY? My kids seldom use “who” when writing, but they often use “Do”, “you,” and “have.” I wanted them to READ these words every time we do this activity.
SECOND: In all my ABC products, I place the letters on a pale yellow background to aid with visual discrimination.
THIRD: I use the lowercase letters exclusively. Children need to learn these letters quickly, as they appear in books more often than capitals.
FOURTH: Next to each letter is a picture and word that corresponds to the letter sound.
LASTLY: All children need variety to stay engaged. On five of the cards, the questions ask: Do you have hat? Do you have mittens? The child that has the “special” card, adds the item to the picture of the snowman. So if I have hat, I place it on the head of the snowman and so forth. It’s a minor variation but the kids love it!
There are 23 pages consisting of: 33 cards to allow up to 33 kids to play, pocket chart pictures and text that match the 6 special pictures of the snowman.
