Includes addition problems and numbers up to 100 with no regrouping!
Instructions for use:
Children are sat in a circle. Each child is handed one* card. The child with the card stating, ‘I have the first card’ starts the game. They then continue reading and ask, ‘Who has 2+7.’ Children sat in the circle then look at their cards and determine the answer to the sum and identify if they have the number 9 on their card. They then say, ‘I have 9, Who has…’ and the game continues until the child with the card stating, ‘This is the last card’ is read.
*if there are less than 32 children in your class pick some children to have 2 cards.
Time how fast students can complete the activity. See if they can beat their class best time, this will help develop mental maths addition skills and encourage confidence with number recognition up to 100.
You can choose which children will receive which numbers to read based on their ability level
