This game is a great reinforcement tool for students learning to recognize and count coins. Each student receives a card and must determine the amount shown in pennies, nickels, dimes, and/or quarters. The first student starts by saying, "I have ___, who has ___?" The student with that amount then stands up and reads his or her card, which leads to a chain reaction. Students love playing this game as a whole group, at a center, or even in small groups (with each child holding more than one card). Play once, redistribute, and play again to see if you can complete the game faster! This is also a great activity for a substitute!
This resource includes instructions for the game, 28 game cards, and the proper sequence of cards to use as a "cheat sheet" for the teacher. Have a blast while strengthening those listening and academic skills!
