Get your students out of their seats and having some fun with this "I have, who has" place value game!
"I have, who has" is a versatile activity that can be used in large groups, small groups, individual practice, as homework, during rainy day recess, or with a parent volunteer. Students can even practice on their own if they finish another activity early!
This game focuses on expanded form to the thousands place. Simply pass out a card to each student (or pass out more than one card to each student if using in a small group setting). Unlike most "I have, who has" card games, feel free to start this game with ANY student. There is no specific beginning or ending card! This allows each student to participate fully in the fun. Once started, the game continues until you get back to the student who originally started the game. Play this game over, and over by simply mixing up the cards and passing them out again.
I have used this game in my classroom for years, and my students beg to play every day!
Included in this download are the 30 colored cards, as well as a printer friendly black and white set. Each set also includes two blank cards so you can create any numbers you want. Both sets are super easy to read for students.
I have also included a handy 12-question assessment that can be used as a pre-assessment before beginning your place value- expanded form unit! You could also use this assessment as a formative assessment during your unit, or even as a summative assessment when you are finished with your study of place value.
I hope you enjoy this activity and thank you so much for your download!
