This note name music game is great for music students to practice note names of lines and spaces in the treble clef and bass clef staff!
This game is also included in the Music Theory Games Bundle Level 2 as well as the Music Theory Games BIG BUNDLE which includes both level 1 and level 2 theory games.
Students will be practicing:
- Names of lines and spaces
- Quickly and accurately looking at groups of notes and determining their names
- Reading notes in the treble and bass clef staff up to one ledger line above and one ledger line below.
If you’re not familiar with this game, it’s very simple to teach. Each student gets a folded card. On one side is a list of 5 note names and on the other side, a staff with 5 (different) notes notated on it. They are shown a card’s staff side and determine if that is the list of note names they have. If it is, they say “I have… and say the names of the notes. Then they say “Who has…” and they show their card with staff notation to the group. (They must figure out the names of the notes on every turn – great practice!)
DETAILED instructions are included along with a number of ways to SIMPLIFY the game and a number of ways to make it more CHALLENGING. You will also see how to adapt the game to small group play and/or individual play.
