This "I Have, Who Has?" game focuses on place value for the first grade. All cards focus on counting tens and ones.
There are 28 cards, however, I made an extra card to replace the 20th card in case you would prefer to only play with 20 students. I wanted some options so that no matter what size class I have I am able to use this with the students.
Have the student who has the "I have the first card." begin by reading his/her card, "I have the first card and I have_____. Who has ____?" (Alternatively, the teacher can read the first card.) Students will have to identify how many groups of ten and ones are on their card to know when it is his/her turn to read. The student with the next card will read, 'I have ___, who has ___?" The game continues until the last student reads their card and identifies the first card.
This is a fun game that keeps everyone engaged! Just print the game on cardstock, laminate for durability, cut the cards apart, and play!
