Description

This rhythm game is great for band students to practice counting rhythms independently!

Students will be practicing:

  • listening to a rhythm and deciding what it looks like in music notation
  • counting a unique rhythm confidently for classmates

***This game is also included in the Music Theory Games Bundle Level 1

Music Theory Games- Level 1 Bundle

If you’re not familiar with this game, it’s very simple to teach. Each student gets a card with 2 rhythms on it. They listen as their classmates count until they hear their rhythm. Then they say “I have… and count their rhythm the classmate just counted. Then they say “Who has…” and they count the next rhythm to “pass” to the next student.

DETAILED instructions are included along with a number of ways to SIMPLIFY the game and a number of ways to make it more CHALLENGING. You will also see how to adapt the game to small group play and/or individual play.
