This game is a great reinforcement tool for students learning tens and ones. Each student receives a card and must determine the number shown in tens and ones. The first student starts by saying, "I have ___, who has ___?" The student with that number then stands up and reads his or her card, which leads to a chain reaction. Students love playing this game as a whole group, at a center, or even in small groups (with each child holding more than one card). Play once, redistribute, and play again to see if you can complete the game faster! This is also a great activity for a substitute!
These cards are ordered so that you can play with numbers 1-20, 1-25, or 1-30, depending on your class size and/or the numbers students have mastered. The proper sequence of cards is included as a "cheat sheet" for the teacher. Have a blast while strengthening those listening and academic skills!
