This is such a great way to practice the vocabulary for The Boy Who Saved Baseball (shortened anthology version). Many reading series neglect to include additional vocabulary practice. This product has been a nice addition to my instruction. This shortened version is found in series such as Journeys.
There are two versions included. They both contain the same words and definitions, but one set is in plain format, the other includes a small graphic. I know some school districts have limited copying available, so I wanted to include a plain version. I cut and laminated my cards so they are reusable year after year.
This set is best when you have 18 students, but you can always give a student two cards if you have less than that in your class or play more than once so everyone gets a chance to participate. Be sure to shuffle the cards thoroughly before handing out to students. I usually project the word bank on my board the first time we do this activity, until my students become a bit more familiar with the words.
I hope you enjoy this product! Please let me know what you think!
