Measuring angles with a protractor can be a confusing experience. There are many things to which students must pay attention -- is the angle opening from the right or the left; do you use the outside scale or the inside scale. Understanding that angles are parts of circles is helpful because then the protractor design makes a little more sense. Using this activity provides a little practice and before you can say PROTRACTOR, your students will be measuring angles with ease.
