I Have... Who Loves? Adding is a great way to have fun adding for Valentine’s Day. This version of I Have.. Who Has, focuses on double digit addition and can be used for a whole class, partners, or individually.
This Math Game Includes:
♥ A differentiated game that begins with the easier concept of adding tens to double digit numbers.
♥ A set of double digit numbers adding a single digit number
♥ Finally 2 sets of double digits with regrouping
♥ ideas for using I have.. Who has?
Once you have played this game whole-group, you can add it to your math centers for children to play independently. If played in small groups at center time, one child (dealer) distributes the cards evenly among the children in the group and play proceeds as normal.
If needed, a more supportive variation of this game is "We Have... Who Loves?" Instead of each student playing individually, consider pairing students who are proficient with place value concepts with students who are still learning. Because the students are in pairs, they get to take a turn more often and it's a great way for stronger students to coach their peers.
