PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Looking for a higher level thinking activity that meets the common core standards? Socratic seminars are an engaging way to get your kids thinking outside of the box! This seminar is centered around Maya Angelou's famous poem "I know why the Caged Bird Sings". There are two versions of the Socratic Seminar preparation questions: a general set of questions that focuses on imagery (visualization) and theme, and a second set of questions that encourages students to connect the poem to the Civil Rights Movement.

This product also includes: Socratic seminar instructions for the teacher, a Socratic seminar rules poster, conversation moves poster, grading rubric, and self-evaluation worksheet.
