This packet is intended to be used with the story, I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie by Alison Jackson. Included are story extension activities that will help your students reach their speech & language goals! **This packet is NOT affiliated with the book and the book is NOT included**

Pages 4-7: Feed the Lady Activity
Print, cut, and laminate the colored copies. Have your students “feed” the lady (page 4) items from the story (page 5) as you read.
Pages 6-7 are in black and white so you can let your students have their own copies to color and take home.

Pages 8-10 Vocabulary/ Word Wall Cards

Pages 11-12: Student Story Sequence activity
Let your students demonstrate their story sequencing skills as they put the story in order. Pictures are black and white so they can color in the pictures when they are done.

Pages 13-16: Cover The Dots!
Have your students cover the dots with chips, markers or even better- candy as they correctly practice a target word or answer a question!

Page 17: Color the Story
Have your students work on vocabulary as they color in the pictures as they read about them in the story.

Page 18: Story Scavenger Hunt
Have your students search the story for words that contain their target sound!

Pages 19-24: Mini Book
Students can illustrate a mini version of the story. Great for story retell, articulation practice, and homework!

Pages 25-27: Following Directions!
Follow the directions on page 26 or 27 (one step or two step) to complete the worksheet on page 25.

Page 28-30: Compare & Contrast
Have your students Compare and contrast vocabulary words from the story!

Page 31: Following Directions with Plurals
Have your students demonstrate their knowledge of plurals by following directions and pointing to the picture described (example, “Point to the pies.”)

Pages 32-33: Categories
Have your students sort the pictures on page 33 into Food vs. Not Food categories on the mat provided on page 32.
