A read along story that targets sentence formulation, early reading skills, articulation, color identification, rhyming, and attribute recognition.
How To Assemble the Books
This pack makes 3 books or one large book. I recommend separating the cards into 3 piles to make it easier for your student to discriminate between the objects to guess what the leprechaun swallowed on each page.
I recommend printing out, laminating each page and binding it into one or 3 books. (Book 1: colors pp. 3-24, Book 2: attributes pp. 25-44,
Book 3: rhyming pp. 45-64)
Print out the flashcards, cut, attach to cardstock, laminate, and attach velcro to each picture. When using velcro, I generally attach the “hook” to the book and the “loop” side to the pictures.
How to Use the Books
Place the flashcards face up on the table near the student. Have the student read the first page, read along with you, or imitate you. Have them look at the pictures and see if he/she can figure out what the leprechaun swallowed by looking at the flashcards and the cue on the page. Then turn the page. If the picture matches, they get to attach that picture to the book page.
