Thanksgiving Emergent Reader and Word Work
After reading I Like Thanksgiving, students use the sight word cards as guides to circle sight words with matching colors (I=orange, like=green, the=purple, love=red, my=brown). Next, students count how many times each word appears in the book, and record the number on the word work page. Last, students write each word three times in the configuration boxes.
For added word work, students can play the included spinner graph game. Each pair of students takes turns spinning the spinner and writing the word in the matching column on his graph. Game ends when one of the word columns is full.
