Teach negation and expressing opinions and interests with this activity. It serves as a visual support as children construct and "read" their sentence or it can be used by non-verbal children to participate in the activity. Plus, children love to stick and unstick the icons.
Instructions: Take a regular-sized file folder and open it so that it is in portrait position. Paste page 1 on the left side and paste page 2 on the right side. You may have to cut the pages to make them fit on the file folder. Take the icons on page 3 and cut each of them out individually. Then paste them onto posterboard or another thick board that you can cut. Cut around each of the icons leaving a border. Next laminate both the file folder and the icons. Put Velcro on each empty square of pages 1 and 2 once the file folder is laminated. Velcro the icons too. When the icons are not in use, keep them on page 2.
NOTE: Do you like this activity but there's something you want to change about it, like adding an interest or activity that I didn't include in the icon choices? Or do you wish the questions were bigger? Let me know before you buy it and I can upload a revised version of the activity so it's exactly what you want.
