Pg. 5 Roll and Write! – practice writing the capital and lowercase letter Gg – roll the dice to see how many times to write it on each line
Pg. 6-9 “g” is for Goose! - Copy the patterns onto the appropriate colored construction paper – cut out the g, add the beak, add wiggle eye, cut out the three feathers, fringe cut them and glue them on the tail of the g
Pg. 10-11 Gumballs! – color all the gumballs green that start with the /g/ sound – color all other gumballs any color you would like – color the rest of the picture
Pg. 12-13 Proper Nouns for Places! – a foldable book – fill in all the proper nouns by writing the special name in the spaces provided
Pg. 14-17 Bugs! – copy pages A and B back to back – cut out the bugs and glue them into your book in the appropriate spots – draw a picture and label your favorite bug on the last page
Pg. 18-24 Read a Word and Catch a Bug! – place all the game cards face down – every player gets a coloring page, take turns choosing a bug card and reading the word on the card – if you read it correctly, color a firefly in your jar – whoever colors all their bugs first or has the most bugs colored by the end of the game wins
Pg. 25-35 Choice of writing papers -If I could “Bee” a bug… What Bug Would I Bee? / If I Were a Bee I would … – a craft and writing activity – copy all the patterns onto the correct colored construction paper – glue the black stripes onto the bee’s body – curve the body into a tube and staple – attach the body to the wings – glue the antenna parts, eyes, and nose to the head and attach the head, attach the stinger to the back and bottom of tube – glue the bee to the upper part of a large construction paper – attach the writing to the bottom – see picture
