Dominoes – 12 cards for each sound set (S/Z; L; r, r-blends; vowel+R); Students can play their own set or together if they share a sound. The cards also serve as an easy game for RTI or home carryover. (Color coded by sound to easily sort. I also back with coordinated color paper)
Word level Draw & Write – Students use the sound specific word bank and template to write vocabulary and draw a picture describing how you take care of the Earth. Can differentiate where students use the space to write a sentence instead of just copying words. Separate pages include: S/Z, L, R combo, blank.
Story level Draw & Write – Using the sound specific word bank and template, students write and illustrate a short story. Separate pages include: S/Z, L, R combo, blank.
Our Planet Earth: Facts & Tidbits – Higher level readers can independently read and underline target sounds on the page of Earth facts. Students then transfer target words to blank boxes to create a word list for study and review. Incorporates sound awareness, reading, and writing (and of course fun tidbits about our planet).
