Pages 3-5: Amazing Word Cards
Pages 6-10: Spelling Word and Challenge Word Cards
Pages 11-14: Word Wise (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students choose and write seven word card words. Draw slashes to break the words into syllables. Write sentences for each word.
Pages 15-18: Word Work: (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students say and write eight word card words, then write a two paragraph fictional story using the words.
Pages 19-20: Let’s Write! (I hang up the letter to the editor poster to help students remember what a letter to the editor is). Students write a letter to an editor explaining in detail a school or community problem and suggest a solution.
Pages 21-23: Words To Know: (I print the word cards out and laminate them). Students choose five word card words and write a synonym for each word. Write sentences using the synonym that you come up with.
Page 24: Read For Meaning: Students read a Leveled Reader and write two sentences comparing characters and two sentences contrasting them.
Page 25: I included a portion of I Love Saturdays y Domingos for students to read for fluency.
