What you get with this packet:
-Step-by-step worksheet for having students create a survey question with categories and a place for them to survey their classmates. Students then create a bar graph with the data they collect.
-Also includes a worksheet for creating a question and statement to go with the bar graph
-Template with 4 types of moustaches students can wear while asking their classmates questions!
Suggestions for this lesson:
-Use this as an assessment piece based on the work you have already done in working on understanding bar graphs in your classroom
-Use this as a reward activity that is still curriculum based.
-Use this as a review for the end of a unit.
Things you will need:
-A class set of print outs from this packet for your class
-An anchor chart to explain to students how to create a bar graph (I suggest you model how to create a bar graph before using this activity)
-Moustache stamp or moustache on a stick for students (make it fun!)
Classroom examples will be posted on my blog soon so you can see how I’ve implemented it in my own class.
