This packet is a set of classroom passes with the Chevron and Mustache theme. It includes 6 passes: Boys bathroom, Girls bathroom, gender friendly bathroom, main office, hall, and nurse. It also includes instructions for how to print and assemble.
This system helps cut down on classroom interruptions from students raising their hands to go to the bathroom, or the nurse, or their locker. Students are able to pick a pass, the color signals to the teacher what they are doing, and the teacher can give a signal if they can go or not. I didn't like kids touching the bathroom passes and spreading germs. This way the student can wear the pass so they are not touching it with their hands before they wash them. I love my laminator, so of course I laminate my passes so they last longer!
The bathroom passes include boys in blue, girls in pink and a gender friendly bathroom pass in green. I used this system of passes in both middle school and high school. When I worked at a public high school in Chicago, I had students that were gender confused, or in the process of changing their sexual identities. I used to say only one boy or girl could be out at a time, and the color of the pass would signal to students if they could go (especially in larger class sizes), but I changed to the green passes when I taught high school and allowed two students out of the room at a time. If you only allow one student out at a time then the green bathroom pass may work better for you.
