PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This fun, integrated math and science activity is perfect for winter or summer time. Students will learn about the states of matter in this “freezing” lab by creating ice cream. Delicious activity involving measurement in math and states of matter in science.

Teacher Notes:
Divide the class into small groups. Ideally, 4-6 students would be a great number/group. You will need the following materials for each group.

Materials:
4 cups crushed ice
1/2 cup rock salt
1 quart-size, Ziploc baggie
1 sandwich size, Ziploc baggie
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup of heavy cream
Measuring cups and spoons
2 Tablespoons of sugar
1/2 Teaspoon of vanilla
Scissors
Small bowls
Spoons
