This Smart Notebook lesson prepares, then presents new Solfege tone/note "Do" to young elementary music students in grades 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Students will learn this beautiful, soft lullaby/poem set to the tone set of d-m-s. Interactive activities in this colorful lesson include a beat tapping chart, a rhythm (sounds per beat) tapping chart, a rhythm notation chart where students have to dictate the correct rhythm to the song using infinitely cloned rhythm icons, a melodically notated version of the song using moon clip-art icons as note-heads on the staff to show the relationship between known tones "sol" and "mi" as well as the new unknown mystery tone "do." On this particular slide, students are provided infinitely cloned note-heads that are labeled with Solfege tones "sol" and "mi" as well as a "?" for the unknown mystery tone so that they can label them on the staff. From that point forward, the new unknown mystery tone "Do" is presented/revealed and other practice activities are provided in the lesson. This lesson will grab your students' attention from the beginning!! It will be a favorite in your classroom.
