This is a fun activity that incorporates the number zero and reinforces learning and recognizing colors (specifically the colors of the rainbow). I use this at the beginning of my school year to asses fine motor skills (coloring or tracing the zero), number recognition, shape recognition (circle and oval), and color recognition.
1. Pass a coloring page to each student.
2. Ask them to put their finger on the red zero, then the orange zero, and so forth.
3. Explain that they should use their crayons to match the colors of the zero.
4. Remember to instruct them if you want them to color the zero or draw a line inside the zero.
