Write the room is one of my students’ favorite centers! They love having the chance to walk around searching for the word cards I have “hidden” around the room. If you are new to having this center in your room, here is how it works. All you need to do to get started is copy the cards you want to use on card stock, cut them apart, laminate, and stick them around the room. Students then take a clipboard and the accompanying recording sheet and copy down the words they find next to the corresponding picture on the page. Simple and a big hit! There is an activity included for each letter of the alphabet. Most letters have eight words that begin with that letter. The trickier letters (U, Q, X, Y, Z) have between 5-6.
