I Spy Shapes- Active class project that allows student’s to find shapes in and out of the classroom to solidify knowledge of 2-D and 3-D shapes. The students will find everyday objects that correspond to the shapes they have been learning about during lessons and are asked to describe different qualities of these objects. This project can also be used as a class book in order to help students feel accountable for their work and to help build a sense of classroom community.
I have used this project as a class book and had each student find four shapes. The students then shared with the class the objects they found and what they wrote about them. These were then compiled into a class book that everyone could share.
