My students are CRAZY about reading the I Survived series. I Survived Hurricane Katrina, 2005 is a great story to accompany any literature or social studies unit, while engaging your readers.
This packet was created in order to be used as a guided reading book or a read aloud. There are student pages with answer keys that are mostly text dependent questions. As well as teacher print outs that can be used during a read aloud. These provide teachers with key vocabulary terms to identify and define and questions to ask while reading. Both sets have the same questions, but are set up with a different purpose in mind.
The packet includes a double entry journal, a page to collect similes and their meanings, graphic organizers for character analysis of Barry and Abe, how Barry changes throughout the story, and pages for reflection of the story.
This book is a level 40 DRA2 or level S.
