This literature guide package includes a literature guide cover page, a set of 4 questions for every 2 chapters, a short reflection for each set of 2 chapters (making predictions, connections, and writing questions), 5 targeted vocabulary words for each set of chapters, a Vocabulary Inquiries page for each set of chapters (students choose 5 new/unfamiliar vocabulary words, plus 2 extension activities: Advertise-a-Book, and an Earthquakes research fact file. The extension activities give students the opportunity to work independently or cooperatively to apply their learning to the text. These extension activities also serve as great alternative assessments!
The literature guide packet can be used in a whole group reading situation, in literature circles, in book clubs, in guided reading groups, or as an independent reading response.
