So I have a saying in my classroom:
"Does it have to be perfect? No. But you DO have to try."
The other day one of my students came up to me with his work.
"I CAN'T!" he whined. "It's too HARD!"
Another student happened to overhear.
"Don't say 'I Can't.'" he said. "Say 'I'll Try.'"
I was immediately blown away by this child's interpretation of my rule. I was so excited I wanted to freak out and give him a big hug! (So I did).
Then I made this poster set for my classroom. Print on cardstock or print on regular paper and glue it on construction paper. Laminate, and hang it up! It'll be a good reminder for you, too!
