Product Description

This mini lesson is intended for kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders. It is a great way to help students to make meaningful connections to the story and craft of I Wanna Iguana. Students will be able to identify key elements of a persuasive letter, think about the way in which the main character, Alex, convinced his mom to get him a pet Iguana, and use that to craft their own letters persuading someone to get them something that they really want. This mini lesson can help bridge read aloud and comprehension strategies to the letter writing component, using an excerpt from the book.
