This is a Reader's Theater for four students. I Want To Read is the story of how Fredrick Douglas first began reading. It was written to use for students during Black History Month but can be used any time. I write them for small groups to help with fluency. When the group is small, they don't waste time sitting around waiting for their turn and get more time actually practicing. Reader's Theater actually encourages students who are reluctant to read. It is a fun way to get people to practice. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. If you like this script look for others at my store! I have over 200 scripts available. My scripts use very little to no color so that photocopying is easier and cheaper. Please leave me some feedback about how things went. I enjoy hearing from you and it helps to know that others are getting as much use out of these as I do.
