This is a visual designed to support students who are non-verbal or have limited verbal skills in communicating their wants and needs. This visual allows students to express when they are hungry, thirsty, need the bathroom, need a break and need to take a walk to release some energy. To use, print on cardstock for durability. Laminate. Cut out the "I want" sentence strip and cut out the square icons depicting choices individually. Place hard velcro on the blank square on the sentence strip. Place a long strip of hard velcro on the back of the sentence strip. Place soft velcro on the individual icons. You can store the icons on the back of the strip for quick access.
