I Went Walking! What did I see?

I Went Walking by Sue Williams (1989) is a timeless read aloud. In this story, go on a fun walk and see a black cat, a brown horse, a red cow, a green duck, a pink pig, and a yellow dog along the way. After reading this simple, but engaging story together, help your little ones make a text-to-self connection by making a book to respond to the question: What did I see? Prompt students to answer the question with: “I saw…”. Have children draw and write their answer. Make one class book or have students make individual books in response to this literature. Two different designs to choose from. Black and white sheets only.

Use with your English language learners from a Francophone country or with students learning French. Make one class book or have students make individual books in response to this literature.
