I Went Walking! What did I see?
I Went Walking by Sue Williams (1989) is a timeless read aloud. In this story, go on a fun walk and see a black cat, a brown horse, a red cow, a green duck, a pink pig, and a yellow dog along the way. After reading this simple, but engaging story together, help your little ones make a text-to-self connection by making a book to respond to the question: What did I see? Prompt students to answer the question with: “I saw…”. Have children draw and write their answer.
