Thinking about the start of the next school year? Here is a great set of NINE rules for student success. I am not much for decorating my classroom in the beginning of the year, but as time goes by, I do like to put up student work. Otherwise, I have a few posters and such to start the year with.
I made these because they are a nice way to spruce up your room a bit, and deliver a positive message at the same time. We're all about growth mindset these days--let's show our students how to embody that!
There is a lead poster that says TO BE A SUCCESSFUL STUDENT...
and each subsequent poster says I WILL...be or do something. For example:
I WILL ALWAYS ASK QUESTIONS
Don’t only ask questions when you don’t know something; asking questions helps you become a better learner and communicator!
The others are:
I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE AND PROACTIVE
I WILL HAVE CLEAR AND SPECIFIC GOALS
I WILL BE A TEAM PLAYER
I WILL BE AN ACTIVE LEARNER
I WILL MANAGE MY BEHAVIOR
I WILL SHOW MY UNDERSTANDING
I WILL STUDY REGULARLY
I WILL MANAGE MY TIME
I've included two sets (same rules); different fonts on each set, and one that is in color if you want to print that way. You can print either in grayscale, regardless.
Hope this adds a little oomph to your room!
