This bundle goes great with the book titled “I am Amelia Earhart” by Brad Meltzer. I like to use my story bundles for the times of the year when textbooks aren’t fun anymore. This project will entertain your students along with extending a story. I also like to use this type of packet for substitutes. Save this for a quick lesson plan and students will have work for your entire reading block. Next year I plan on using this at a reading center. The math worksheet can still fit into a reading rotation because it contains all word problems. Hope you find this packet helpful, meaningful and enjoyable!
This bundle includes:
Vocabulary Cards – Words that needed slight explanation from the story. Print and add to a word wall!
Pre-reading Questions – I use this sheet for morning work right when the students come in. It sets to tone of the story, and students might have more understand of the story later.
Comprehension Questions – Use this with you are doing a read aloud or I like to use the entire packet at a reading center in my room.
Newspaper Writing – Students will pretend to be a reporter of the Making History Times Reporter. Higher students can research old articles to compare, or facts about Amelia. Other students can just reference the book.
Word Problems – Word Problems are a part of reading too right? Use this at the reading center for practice reading word problems. Have students put boxes around key words to help to answer each problem. With answer key!
Please note: This product does not include the story written by Brad Meltzer.
