Written by a professional children's yoga teacher, this unit is the perfect companion to the lovable tale by Richard Scarry about Nicholas the Bunny and his adventures through the 4 Seasons in Nature. The lesson includes creative movements and children's yoga poses that follow along with the story (must have your own copy of the book). Children will love retelling the story, as they act out it out using poses such as:
Animals preparing for winter
The lesson includes step-by-step instructions (appropriate even for those who have never done yoga), large pictures throughout, and 4 pages of Pose Printables with each movement for the book (16 cards total).
Use it as a full unit, or just grab out sections to use for quick Brain Breaks, Circle Time, or Transitions! So many options. Laminate the Pose Printables, and you can use over-it-and-over!
All units include tips on working with various ages and abilities (this specific plan is tailored to Pre-K through 2nd Grade), giving options of difficulty for poses and allowing instructors to modify for their specific students.
The lesson plans do not promote or include any spiritual/religious elements.
LENGTH: 30-45 min (or just use specific sections for a 10 minute brain break!)
