This card set is specifically designed for bilingual teachers to use with Spanish-English bilingual students who are developing English literacy skills. The cards are written in Spanish and students will be playing “I have....Who has?” while identifying beginning sounds in Spanish. THE BIG DIFFERENCE with this game is that the only beginning sounds used will be sounds that are common (or approximate) to both Spanish and English. These letter sounds are: a, b, c, d, e, f, g, i, k, l, m, n, o, p, q, r, s, t, u, v, x, y, z.
The following sounds are not similar in Spanish and English and therefore not included in this game: h, j, w
This can also be used with bilingual speech/language therapy activities. Ask students to describe the objects they have (or have them use them in a sentence).
