This activity was created by Heather Bates, SLP. It is a great way to reinforce labeling of animals along with improved understanding of animal habitat. It is also a great way to improve use of auxiliary verbs has/have!! Your students will love the great clip art by www.pinkcatstudio.com.
HOW TO PLAY:
Copy, cut, and laminate the animal cards.
Pass out all of the cards to the students in your small group or your classroom, except 1.
Start with the card you kept and say: “I have _(crab)__, who has _(cat)_.”
The student who has the animal named on the top of their card says “I have __(cat)__, who has __(horse)__.”
Game continues like this until all the cards have been used.
To add to the game you can have your students say where each animals lives (forest, ocean, pond, farm, zoo).
This activity goes well with my Guess the Animal Power Point.
