Social Stories are so amazing at teaching social skills!
Social Stories are perfect for reinforcing appropriate social skills in regular education students, students with autism, and students with ADHD. All of my social stories are written in “kid friendly language” and stories that I have personally used in my own classroom. The great thing about Social Stories is that you can use them in so many ways and I have included some suggestions on how to use them. I have included a page that talks about why you should use social stories in your classroom.
I know how to Keep Calm (A Social Story on how to stay calm when you get upset) is a story that can help students use calming strategies when they need them. This story talks about a student getting frustrated at school and the student asks for a cool down break. This story goes through all the ways a student can stay calm in detail. The strategies talked about in this story are taking deep breathes, counting to 10, using fidgets, using exercise, and taking a walk.
