This is an interpersonal speaking activity for Spanish III or IV students to practice the conditional tense. It is a role playing activity where one student will ask another if he or she would do something for him or her.
For example, the first student might ask, "Limpiarías tu cuarto, por favor?" The second student will respond by saying that he or she would do that favor, but cannot. His or her reply would be: "Limpiaría mi cuarto, pero tengo demasiada tarea esta noche."
I had students in pairs to ask each other these questions. They switched roles after asking and answering the question the first time. After each group had asked each other the questions, I had one pair share their role plays for the class. Then, I had students change partners for the next role play scenario.
I created this to get my students to practice the conditional tense without having to use if clauses or si cláusulas, which we haven´t discussed yet. My students had a lot of fun with this activity!
