According to the IB Learner Profile, students should strive to be: inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced, and reflective. This is the THIRD of 10 lessons prepared to engage high school students in the IB Learner Profile.
This is the THINKER lesson and it is designed to be a challenge/competition to determine: Who will be the BEST thinker today? Students will work in groups to solve a series of 10 lateral thinking puzzles.
As an IB school, we try to incorporate the Learner Profile in our school community, culture, and curriculum as often as possible. In addition to monthly lessons and daily "Do Now" activities for each characteristic, at the end of each month, our school also awards IB Learner Profile t-shirts to students who received a "Shout Out" for the characteristic. We also designed color-coded bracelets and stickers (inspired by the Periodic Table of Elements) to go with each characteristic.
